At Bamford, we care about your privacy.

 

W M Bamford & Co Limited (Bamford) is a third-generation medical supplier to New Zealand hospitals and practice.  In this statement, we will refer to Bamford as both “we”, “our” or “us”.

We know your privacy is important to you, and you have the right to feel secure, knowing that your personal information will not be used for any purpose unintended by you, and will not fall into the hands of a third party. That is why we have processes in place to ensure that when you contact us or use our services in any way, we meet our obligations to you under the Privacy Act 2020.  Except as set out below, we do not share, or sell, or disclose to a third party, any personally identifiable information collected at this site.

 

Collection of Information/Means of Collection

Bamford may collect, hold and update your personal information in order to analyse usage of this website, to conduct business, provide and market services, to verify your identity and to meet our legal obligations.

Execpt as otherwise permitted by law, Bamford will collect personal information from you directly, indirectly, through third parties, and from publicly available websites.  Some examples on how personal information may be collected include, via emails, telephone calls, in person, forms, attendance meetings, business cards, and the use of the services and facilities available through our website.  Information we collect may include your name, date of birth, contact details and other information which will to help us provide you with the right service according to your needs.  We may also check our records to make sure that we have identified you correctly if you have used our services before.  Bamford may also use cookies to collect data about each visit to our website.  We may use this data to generate statistics about how its website is used – this assists us to understand what is important to users and to improve its website’s performance.

 

USE OF INFORMATION

  1. Your basic identification and contact information (e.g. your name and contact details) – this information is used:

a. To provide you with the services which you request;

b. To maintain our accounts;

c. For billing;

d. To enable us to answer your enquiries;

e. For verifying your identity for security purposes;

f. For marketing our services and products;

g. To help make our website as useful to you as possible;

h. Information which does not identify any individual may be used in a general way by us or third parties, to provide class information, for example relating to demographics or usage of a particular page or service.

  1. Your domain name and email address – these are recognised by our servers, and the pages you visit are recorded. This information is used:

a. In a collective way, not referable to any particular individual, for the purpose of quality control and improvement of our site;

b. To send you news about the services to which you have signed up;

c. To tell you about our other services.

  1. Your Financial information, including credit card details – this information is used to obtain payment for goods and services you have ordered from us. This information is never actually received by us. The page where this information is given by you is controlled by our contract merchant service provider, Windcave Limited. Such information is automatically encrypted, and later decrypted for use. It never touches our system. We are constantly keeping a vigilant lookout for credit card and other fraud. We report all charge backs to a credit reference agency. If you have any reason to seek the return of money paid, please contact us rather than your credit card issuer.

  2. Your Bamford personal profile - this information is available to be seen by members throughout the world. No contact details whatsoever are given out with it. This information is not used for marketing purposes of any sort. Information, which does not identify any individual may be used in a general way by us or third parties, to provide class information, for example relating to demographics or usage of a particular page or service.  Some of this information is classified as sensitive information by the Privacy Act 2020. We make the assumption that in giving this information to us, you consent to our holding it for the duration of your membership

  3. Information volunteered by you - this is information provided by you for a particular purpose, for example a personal profile, survey, job application form, or contest. This information will be used exclusively for the purpose for which you have provided it. Information is disclosed to third parties only where the third party concerned qualifies in whatever way the website page requires. We will make it absolutely clear on the face of the page, any intention to publicise the name of a winner

  4. Affiliate information - this is information given to us in the course of your business and ours as you have applied to join our affiliate scheme. Such information is retained for business use only. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of the information and of the terms of our relationship. This information is used:

a. To maintain our accounts and affiliate records;

b. For billing;

c. To enable us to answer your enquiries;

d. For verifying your identity for security purposes;

e. To send you news about the services to which you have signed up;

f. To tell you about other of our services.

  1. Business information - this is information given to us in the course of your business and ours such as in relation to your application to partner with us or advertise with us. Such information is retained for business use only. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of the information and of the terms of our relationship. It is not used for any other purpose. We expect you and any partner to reciprocate this policy.

You will have the opportunity for to indicate whether you would prefer we do not provide this information to third parties as proposed.  You can choose not to provide information to us. However, if you choose not to provide relevant information to us this may affect our ability to give you the best possible service. If you don’t want to give us any information about yourself, or only provide limited information, we will give you the best service we can using the information you do provide.

 

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

Bamford will only use your personal information for the purpose it was collected and will not disclose personal information that it holds about you unless one of the exceptions in Principle 11 of the Information Privacy Principles (pursuant to section 22 of the Privacy Act 2020) applies. For example,  we believe that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce any legal rights we may have, or if the disclosure of that information is required or permitted by law..

 

STORAGE AND PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

Bamford may store your personal information in hard copy or electronic form. This includes third party storage facilities and in cloud storage located inside or outside New Zealand.

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse.

 

INTERNET USE

By using this website you agree to the following privacy policy without qualification.  And while we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

For example, information may be unlawfully available to hackers and snoopers.  We take no responsibility for this.

If you follow a link on our website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information.  We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

 

ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may request access to all personal information held about yourself/your Company by Bamford, other than material that is subject to exception under the Privacy Act 2020. 

Bamford endeavours to ensure that the personal information held is accurate, complete and up-to-date.  We encourage you to contact us to update any personal information held about you. You have the right to correct any personal information held about you in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. To better safeguard your information, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to your information.

 

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to update or revise this privacy policy at any time. Changes to this privacy policy will take effect immediately once they are published on this website.
